Illinois Indoor Championships Is Stacking Up To Be The Biggest Indoor Meet of The Year

Writer: Carson VittorioCarson Vittorio

The Illinois Indoor Championships is an enticing meet for many, as we have seen teams posting their schedules and including this inaugural event. Let's be honest—who wouldn't love the opportunity to compete on a banked 200m track to cap off their season?

Unfortunately, high school rankings on MileSplit and Athletic.net do not have a separate category for flat track performances. When top college coaches search for recruits, they primarily look at national rankings, which means many athletes' marks on flat 200m tracks may not appear near the top. This meet provides a valuable opportunity for athletes to improve their standings and gain visibility on those national leaderboards.

So far we have had some extremely high caliber programs add themselves to the team list which includes Edwardsville, Homewood-Flossmoor, Oak Park-River Forest, Mt. Prospect (Prospect), Naperville (Neuqua Valley), Chicago (Whitney Young), Huntley, Chicago (Kenwood), Winnetka (New Trier), Cahokia, Wheaton Warrenville South, Belleville West, Mascoutah, Chicago (South Shore), Burbank (St. Laurence), Sycamore, Naperville North, Franfort (Lincoln-Way East), Chatham (Glenwood), Palatine (Fremd), Plainfield South, Schaumburg, Chicago (Lane), Chicago (St. Ignatius), Crete-Monee, DeKalb, Champaign (Centennial), Batavia, Berwyn-Cicero (Morton), Chicago (Catalyst/Maria), Chicago (Christ the King), Chicago (Providence St. Mel), Chicago (Westinghouse)

Don't miss out on this great meet. The best teams in the State will be HERE!

Looking forward to this first time ever event, as the old saying goes "you only get one chance to make a good first impression"
