From a nutritional perspective, sunflower seeds are rich in healthy fats, particularly unsaturated fatty acids, which can support heart health when consumed in moderation. They are also a good source of plant-based protein, dietary fiber, and essential vitamins such as vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in the body. In addition, sunflower seeds contain important minerals including magnesium, selenium, and phosphorus, all of which contribute to normal bodily functions.
In culinary applications, sunflower seeds are valued for their texture and flavor. They are often added to salads, baked goods, cereals, and snack mixes to provide a crunchy element. Ground sunflower seeds can also be used to create spreads or incorporated into sauces and dressings. Their adaptability allows them to be used in both sweet and savory dishes.
Another important feature of sunflower seeds is their convenience and storage stability. When kept in a cool, dry place and stored in airtight containers, they can maintain…

Does anyone else get a little down after all the excitement during the build-up for State? It gets dark early, (generally) the team is done with day-to-day practices and meets, and some have moved on to winter sports. As a longtime CC coach, I find this week always a little sad, for me.

What are we most excited for this upcoming weekend?
On the girls 3A side : 1) Busse Woods; THE top three teams in the state battling it out. 2) Lake Park: 10 ranked teams competing. I'm a T&F fan but I'M even excited to see what happens these next two weeks
Unfortunetly it looks like Mia isnt running this week or next which will shake things up a bit at the top.

Any thoughts on Palatine yesterday? Bright skies led to some carnage in the varsity races.

A lot of movement from the previous week. Especially The Knights who's freshman haven't run in a varsity event yet. It'll intersting to see what happns when Wint decides to make the move.

Drew Rogers, Liam Newhart, Ryan Watts, or Micah Wilson come to mind for me.
Micah Wilson looks the best right now but would love to see Ryan Watts have a great year at Iowa St and take home a national title!

Fast times at Detweiller Park. 37 runners under 15:00 is insane for a regular season Peoria Meet. Big team wins for both Lane Tech boys and Hersey girls. Prospect girls looked amazing if you add the freshman. Post your thoughts below
PND boys looked phenomenal taking down 2A #1 Mahomet-Seymour. Max Kirby had himself a day running 14:29 to break Adam White's school record by 2s. The 2-5 runners had just a 14s split (15:23-15:37) which bodes well for November. Perhaps the biggest surprise was Dax Duffy who was the fifth man in 15:37 coming off injury. Expect him to be closer to 15:00 within the next few weeks.
I feel the same! I miss seeing the kids everyday and now that I am retired I don't see them in the school either.
