Plainfield Pack and Palatine Pack Is Set To Host Summer Meets

The upstart Plainfield Pack and Palatine Pack group looks to put on meets this summer based out of Plainfield South and Palatine for any competitors that are looking to compete in a fun setting. Our mission is to bring the fun back to summer Track & Field with these meets. We focus on creating an awesome environment with music, an awesome announcer, and will focus on helping kids set a new PR during their summer training. You wont need to be sitting at a 12 hour a day long meet just in order to compete. You can come to Plainfield South or Palatine and be in and out in 3-4 hours! Here is the meet information...
June 12th - Plainfield Pack Summer Kickoff
Thursday, June 12 @ Plainfield South High School Track | Field Events 4:00 pm, Track Events 5:00 pm
Gates will open at 3:00 PM
Athletes may enter in a maximum of 3 events
Age Groups: Athletes compete at the grade level they just finished in school. For example, if an athlete just finished 5th grade they will compete in the 5th-8th grade division.
1st-4th Grade: Able to compete in the 50m, 400m, 4x100m, LJ, and SP (softball throw)
5th-8th Grade: Able to compete in anything besides the 300H
High School: Able to compete in anything
Open: Able to compete in anything. This is for post high school athletes
Event Schedule
All track events will run in the “flow of meet” rather than a set time schedule. With open registration, we do not know until the day of the meet how many registrants and heats there will be.
Track Schedule:
100 meter dash (front stretch) / 50 meter dash (back stretch)
800 meter run
100/110 meter high hurdles
400 meter dash
4 x 100 meter relay
300 meter intermediate hurdles
200 meter dash
1600 meter run
4 x 400 meter relay
Field Event Schedule
Shot put - Normal weights for 5th-8th, High School, and Open followed by Softball toss for Beginners (3 attempts)
Discus - To follow Shot Put (3 attempts)
Long jump - 3 attempts
Triple jump - To follow Long Jump (3 attempts)
High jump proceeding from lowest height to highest, regardless of age group
Pole vault proceeding from lowest height to highest, regardless of age group. Athletes will need to supply their own poles.
We will combine age groups where appropriate depending on number of registrants.
Cost: $10 For the first event and an addition $5 for each additional event

June 18th - Palatine Pack Summer Meet
Thursday, June 18 @ Fremd High School Track | Field Events 5:00 pm, Track Events 5:00 pm
Gates will open at 4:00 PM
Athletes may enter in a maximum of 3 events
Age Groups: Athletes compete at the grade level they just finished in school. For example, if an athlete just finished 5th grade they will compete in the youth division.
Beginner: 2nd grade and younger can compete in the 50 meter dash, 50 meter hurdles and long jump for free. Warm ups being at 4:30 PM on the 50 yard line, no registraion required
Youth: 3rd-5th grade
Middle School: 6th-8th grade
High School: 9th-12th grade
Open: College and older

July 8th - Palatine Pack No Frills Cross Country
5:00 - 6:15 PM - Race Day Registration, 6:30 PM - Start
Event Description
The Palatine Pack “No Frills” cross country meets are modeled on the races that Eric Gronwick of Running Unlimited managed at Deer Grove East in the early 2000s. Each event offers affordable racing opportunities for all members of the family while building distance running community throughout the northwest suburbs.
Events Offered and Time Schedule
4:00 pm - Course setup
5:00-6:15 pm - Race day registration
6:30 pm - 1/4 mile kids race (FREE)
6:40 pm - 1 mile Beginner (7 and under), Youth (8-11), and Middle School (12-14) race
6:55 pm - 2 mile Beginner (7 and under), Youth (8-11), and Middle School (12-14) race
7:20 pm - 3 mile Youth, Middle School, High School, and Open race on the Palatine Invite “Meet of Champions” course
8:00 pm - Course tear down
Cost and Registration
Pre-Registration is available online via Athletic.net. Pre-registered athletes are $15 - $13 entry fee plus a $2 service fee from Athletic.net. Entry instructions are available here.
All athletes in the Beginner age group are FREE. Any athlete enrolled in a Palatine Pack summer program is also FREE. These groups include Youth Track Camp, Palatine Run Club, and Palatine Pack TFCC club. All camp attendees will enroll through their respective coaches.
Meet day registration runs from 5:00 - 6:15 pm. Cost for meet day registrants is $20. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check payable to Palatine Pack TFCC, and credit card processing via Square. If you do not pre-register, we urge you to arrive early as we will cut off walk-up registration at 6:15 pm to finish preparing the meet program.
All athletes will receive a bib number at check in. Please clearly display your bib on your race uniform as it will be used to identify you in the results.
Age Groups
Awards will be offered for the fastest three men and women in each age group, including:
Beginner (7 and under)
Youth (8-11)
Middle School (12-14)
High School (14-18)
Open (19 and above)
Timing
Palatine Pack Timing will provide Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) services for the entire meet. All results except the Beginner events will be published via Athletic Live and posted to the athlete’s online profile on Athletic.net.
Workers
Palatine Pack coaches will serve as workers along with student volunteers from Palatine High School and Fremd High School. We also anticipate parents and students working as course marshals throughout the course.
Facilities
There are limited bathroom facilities available in Deer Grove East. For this event, these include only the two onsite, permanent bathrooms.
July 10th - Palatine Pack Community Meet
Field Events 5:00 pm, Track Events 5:30 pm, Beginner Events 5:00 PM
Event Description
The Palatine Pack Community track meet offers affordable track and field competition opportunities for all kids in the family. The meet offers a limited slate of events for age groups including Beginner (ages 7 and below), Youth (ages 8-11), Middle School (ages 12-14), and High School (ages 14-18). The entire meet takes place in the evening and lasts 3 to 4 hours. To that end, we ask that athletes limit their participation to a MAXIMUM of two track events and one field event, or one track event and two field events.
Location
The meet is run at Chic Anderson Stadium on the grounds of Palatine High School. Our school is located at 1111 N. Rohlwing Rd., Palatine, IL 60074.
Cost and Registration
Pre-registration is available online via Athletic.net. Entry instructions are available here. The cost is $15 - $13 entry fee plus a $2 service fee from Athletic.net. Track events - 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 300 meter intermediate hurdles, 1600 meter run, 100/110 meter high hurdles, 4 x 100 meter relay, 4 x 800 meter relay.
Depending on registrations, we may combine some of these age groups to minimize heats. We will also combine both genders in age group races. Athletes can feel free to create mixed age group relays as well.

Situated the week before USATF Junior Nationals, the Midwest Track and Field Club Championship serves as a tune-up for elite athletes and a final meet for all club competitors. Beyond splitting Distance/Field and Sprints across two days, each day will also be divided into an Open session (for all athletes in a club) and an Invitational session (for each club’s scoring athletes). All events will be conducted on the grounds of Palatine High School, Palatine, IL.
Competition will be separated into Youth, Middle School, and High School age groups. The meet is scored across two days to determine the Midwest Club Team Champion for each age group and each gender. We will also combine all boys and girls scores to determine the overall club champion.
Entries open on Monday, June 2. Cost is $25 per competing athlete with a limit of four events.
